Haha, I did this in about 3 days and I think it shows. It was still pretty fun to arrange, though.

Collaboration with my sister, written for a character for a story arc of ours, set in a medieval time period of sorts. This should really start out with solo violin -- with solo 2nd violin, solo viola, and solo cello joining in shortly after, followed by tutti strings when the theme changes. It's impossible to hear with the MIDI, unfortunately, and I refuse to put it on the solo violin (etc.) MIDI sound because it's so unrealistic and low quality it doesn't even sound like a string instrument anymore.

This is a longer 'audition' piece, completely different from the first. I was told that the first draft was good, but the story had changed and no longer fit. So, I did this piece, which I feel is much better than the first anyway.

This is not the whole piece, so be warned: it ends abruptly. Truth be told, I never did finish the entire piece. Last I heard, the project was put on hold for various reasons, and I just hadn't continued with it since.

Written as an audition blurb for some friends of mine making a short film called "Blueprint", still in pre-production at the time of the audition.

I wrote it for Marching Band with the thinking that since they're so prevalent in High Schools and colleges in our area, and the film didn't have the biggest budget to hire an orchestra, it would be relatively easy to find a group willing to record for us without sacrificing too much of the drama that an orchestra can bring.

A very happy-go-lucky song with an African feel. "Shani" means adventure in Swahili, or at least that's what Matt & an internet translator said, haha. This was my first song for Marching Band. Intended to go with Father and Whisper as a High School Marching Band Show.

This was one of my favorite songs from The Lion King on Broadway, and I decided to redo it with more of a classical feel. One of the challenges was keeping the African rhythmic feel without the use of any percussion.

I did this arrangement as an experiment not so much in originality, but in film scoring & timing. While arranging this, I watched the opening sequence to The Lion King in great detail to get each part of the song to match up with events the movie. A cymbal crash here, a woodwind flourish there, each goes with a specific visual cue in the movie. This recording is missing a few fermatas that I wrote in the beginning (that the conversion software apparently didn't pick up when turning this into a MIDI), so it's not quite synched up until where the verse starts.
